ABOUT FAMILY EYE CARE CENTERS

At Family Eye Care Centers, each member of our vision care team is carefully selected by our doctors based upon his or her experience, professional demeanor, and dedication to providing personalized care to our optometry patients.

Our entire optometry staff is committed to ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of each and every patient. We will do our best to accommodate your busy schedule by finding appointment times that meet your needs. Our knowledgeable staff at Family Eye Care Centers will work with you to help you understand your vision insurance coverage and provide financial alternatives to ensure you get the best vision care possible.

We know that you have a choice when it comes to optometry, so we strive to provide comprehensive eye exams, a great selection of glasses, and personalized care.

History

Family Eye Care Centers is a full scope optometric group practice with offices located in Sandusky, Huron and Clyde, Ohio.

Dr. David Dreffer opened his practice in Huron during the summer of 1968. Since that time the following long established and respected, community-minded optometrists have merged their practices with Family Eye Care Centers to create a unique comprehensive optometric group. Those mergers include the offices of optometrists: Dr. Oscar Burger, Dr. Joe Kisabeth, Dr. Ramie Dick, Dr. Glenn Bible, and Dr. John Wasylik.

Dr. Gregory Hicks joined the practice in 1990, followed by Dr. Heather Demos in 1999, and Dr. Strah joined the practice in 2016.

The Doctors and staff of Family Eye Care Centers pride themselves in providing friendly, caring, state of the art eye care for the entire family. This includes all comprehensive vision and eye health care services needed from infancy to geriatrics!

Community Outreach

At Family Eye Care Centers, we believe strongly in giving back to the community and caring for the eyes of all those in need. Outreach programs represent an opportunity to show the level of commitment our optometrists have to their community.

Family Eye Care Centers’ doctors participate in several community organizations including Rotary, North Coast Young Professionals, The Ohio State Alumni Association of Erie County, The Huron Chamber of Commerce, and The Clyde Business Professionals Association.

In addition, our doctors participate in InfantSEE, which provides a free comprehensive eye exam to any infant in their first year of life.
