What is InfantSEE®?
InfantSEE® is a public health program that aims to improve the quality of life for all children by including optometric eye and vision care as an integral part of their wellness care.
The InfantSEE® Program’s Mandate
-
Risk factors that influence eye and vision health should be identified and treated.
-
Identify, and intervene early in the development of amblyopia (currently affecting 1 in 30 children) and other conditions that may affect a child’s spatial and cognitive development.
-
Inform parents about the importance of having their children’s eyes checked.
NATIONWIDE PROFESSIONAL EYE CARE FOR INFANTS
InfantSEE®, a no-cost public health program created to provide professional eye care for infants nationwide, is part of a campaign by the American Optometric Association (AOA) and The Vision Care Institute of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc.
A comprehensive eye and vision assessment is offered free of charge by Optometrists through InfantSEE® during a baby’s first year of life. Optometrists provide a one-time, comprehensive eye and vision assessment to babies between 6 and 12 months of age, offering early detection of potential eye and vision problems.
