MEET OUR OPTOMETRISTS

Robert L. Hill, O.D.

Robert Hill, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University in 1992 and earned his Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Dr. Hill has been practicing optometry since 1993, and he is therapeutically licensed to treat all diseases of the eye, including glaucoma and infectious diseases. He is also certified in the co-management of cataract and LASIK surgery.

In his time away from the office, Dr. Hill enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, and is an avid Ohio State fan and snowmobiler.

Tara L. Richmond, O.D.

Dr. Tara Richmond graduated summa cum laude from The Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in 1998. She is also an alumnus of the Defiance College where she received her Bachelor of Science degree with honors. Returning to Williams County in 1998, Dr. Richmond proudly joined Northwest Ohio Vision Center where she has been caring for patients ever since.

Dr. Richmond is therapeutically licensed to treat all diseases of the eye including glaucoma and infectious diseases and is certified to co-manage cataract and LASIK surgery.

She has been married to her husband Cory for 18 years. They have 3 children; Maddie, Easten, and Jaxon.”

Andrea J. Yahraus O.D

Dr. Andrea J. Yahraus was born and raised in Bryan, Ohio and graduated from BHS in 2010. She attended Trine University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and enjoyed time in the community and university orchestra. After graduation, Andrea moved to Bloomington, Indiana to pursue a career in Optometry at Indiana University School of Optometry. During her four years, Andrea was active in many organizations including Contact Lens Club, Private Practice Club, and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. This gave her the opportunity to do a mission trip to Frome, Jamaica in 2016 where she helped serve the local communities ocular health needs. Andrea did her external rotations at various locations including Northern Indiana VA Hospital in Ft Wayne IN, Vision Care Specialists of Des Plaines IL, Indianapolis Eye Care Center, and Atwater Eye Care Center in Bloomington, IN. Dr. Andrea Yahraus joined the practice in 2018. She looks forward to serving the Bryan and surrounding communities with ALL your eye care needs.

Jordan D. Spiess O.D.

Dr. Jordan Spiess is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Before moving to Columbus, Dr. Spiess spent 3 years at Kent State University, earning his bachelor’s degree in Biology and is also a Bryan High School graduate. He was born and raised in Bryan, Ohio and is happy to be back home where his family still lives. Dr. Spiess spent his final extern sites dealing with a plethora of ocular disease and management, dealing with glaucoma, macular degeneration, ocular infections, and post-surgery cataract and Lasik patients. In his free time Dr. Spiess likes to spend his time at Coldwater Lake with his friends and family while doing lots of fishing and water sports.

John Elchinger O.D.

John Elchinger, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University in 2017 and earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Adrian College.

Dr. Elchinger remembers his own experience of being near-sighted his entire life.  He recalls getting his first pair of glasses in kindergarten, then being fitted for his first pair of contact lenses in 5th grade.  He always enjoyed visits to his optometrist’s office because his doctor was able to help him see more clearly. 

Dr. Elchinger knew from a young age that he wanted to become an optometrist, and he worked diligently towards that goal.  He truly values the opportunity he has each day to help his own patients experience better vision in their everyday lives.

When away from the office, Dr. Elchinger enjoys spending his free time watching Ohio State football with family and friends, as well as reading and playing golf.
